It is that PURR-fect time of year again! For the entire month of August we will be collecting pet food, accessories (like bowls, collars, etc) and financial donations to benefit Angel Wings Rescue and Lower Columbia CAP‘s Meals on Wheels.

Project: Living Ministries’ 3rd Annual Animal Love Drive
Project Sponsor: Living Ministries to benefit Angel Wings Rescue Animal Shelter

Project Background:
The animal love drive is a month long donation project to raise funds for Angel Wings Rescue and educate the public about local shelters. We are accepting money and food to benefit Angel Wings. What Angel Wings cannot use will go to CAP to help them.
Business Needs:
The reason the project was established was to educate the public about needs of animals & local shelters. The secondary reason for this project is to find regular supporters for Angel Wings Rescue to help with vet bills, food, and other maintenance that occurs while running an animal shelter.
Project Objectives:
Living Ministries first goal is to educate the public about local animal shelters that need support. Our second goal is to raise $500 dollars and collect 500 pounds of food, toys, food dishes and other animal gear for Angel Wing Rescue.
Deliverable Description:
We will facilitate this by advertising the month long event on Living Ministries Website and Facebook page and Twitter. Angel Wings Rescue will advertise on their website and Facebook page and so will the committee members. This year Living Ministries’ Marketing Committee voted to change the name of the event to Pet Love Drive so that people would understand that our goals was broader than collecting food. We will also send Public Service Announcements to newspapers and radio stations in our area.
Key Dates and Milestones:
The Animal Love Drive Starts on August 1 and ends August 31st.
Organizational Considerations:
Committee members are posting the event on their Facebook page and Twitter. Also some committee members have blogs, that they will post on. Living Ministries is taking calls to set up a time to pick donations up. We will also ask businesses to put containers out to collect donations.
Business Care:
90% of financial donations will go directly to Angel Wings Rescue. Living Ministries will keep 10% of donations to devote to future projects that further our goal of building relationships and filling needs in our community.
