From: Living Ministries Christmas Angel Telethon Committee

Date: Thursday October 25, 2012

Location: The Longview Eagles Hall; 1526 12th Ave. Longview, WA

Attendance: Karen Gidderon, Tom Stebbins, Norma Davey & Summer Clemenson

The meeting was called to order at 6:13 pm by Committee Chair, Karen Gidderon.

Norma reminded us that we need to be on the look out for stories about how The Salvation Army has helped people to post on the new FB page at http://facebook.com/ChristmasAngelTelethon. People don’t like to be sold to but they do like personal stories so we will market this way.

Summer said that she had not had time to figure out how to create the donate tab on FB yet, but she would devote some time to it next week. Norma offered to help if necessary.

Christmas Angel Bingo is scheduled for Saturday November 10, 2012 at The Longview Eagles Hall. In lieu of cash prizes we are collecting prizes for bingo winners. All monies earned from this event will go toward our total collected for Christmas Angel Telethon. We have a lot of female oriented prizes and are looking for more male oriented gifts to balance it out. Tom is trying to secure a limo ride and hotel for a grand prize.

The bingo game will be from 6-9 pm and we are very thankful for The Longview Eagles for facilitating this event at no charge.

Flyers have been prepared. We will share the flyer on social media sites and several were printed by our sponsor Copies Today/Speedy Litho to be distributed at in-town hot spots and assisted living facilities in order to catch the attention of those who may be the most interested in this event.

Karen is working to start scheduling interviews for during the telethon.

Karen and Tom will begin going to businesses to seek sponsorships and donations starting next week.

We still have many spots open for bands, interviews and smaller acts. Summer will devote some time next week to contact all the bands from last year.

Due to some questions asked by a new ad sponsor, we believe the people don’t know what a telethon is and that may be why they are not as excited about it as we had hoped. We will be writing a blog article this next week to teach people what a telethon is and help them to understand the concept.

Exclaim Media is planning on a couple Connect the Dots specials to be devoted to Christmas Angel Telethon, The Salvation Army, and Living Ministries. These will air on KLTV channel 11. When we know the dates, we will share with our online community.

We submitted a PSA specifically looking for sponsors last week that told potential sponsors that if they joined us by 5 pm on Friday October 26, 2012 they could be listed on the flyers. Summer will submit a new PSA about the event on Monday. These PSAs go to all the radio and newspapers within a 50 mile radius that could be contacted.

We have broken down levels of sponsorships:

Gold Sponsors ($500+ in donations, services or in kind)

Silver Sponsors ($200-$499 in donations, services or in kind)

Bronze Sponsors ($100-$199 in donations, services or in kind)

Currently we have been blessed by the following advertising companies that have donated advertising, since we do not have a budget for that: Valley Bugler, Columbia River Reader & KLTV.

Norma is not available to be on the float for Christmas Angel Telethon. It was suggested that maybe the Christmas Angel Telethon float should follow the Squirrel Fest float. We will ask Lonnie if he is available to be on the CAT float since Karen and Summer also have to be other places.

Our next meeting is Wednesday November 7, 2012 at The Longview Eagles Hall.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:55 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Summer Clemenson
Living Ministries Executive Director
