The church doorstep is a frequent destination for people in need. But most churches alone cannot fully meet the needs of every homeless family, single mom, hungry child, or senior citizen who asks for help.
Or can they?
Love In the Name of Christ (Love, INC) enables churches in a community to coordinate their resources and services so those in need are not turned away.
As churches join together to show Christ’s love to their neighbors, communities see exciting results:
- People in need receive immediate and long-term help.
- Church members use their unique gifts and talents through specific, manageable opportunities to service oterhs.
- Churches work together, across denominational lines, modeling the unity of the Body of Christ.
- Lives and communities are transformed.

Imagine the difference churches can make in our community by joining with one another to help those in need. When the Body of Christ works together, the results can be miraculous.
The Story of Love, INC
The challenge: Christian leaders realize that though our community has many churches, few are working together. Some people in need receive help, but others only cycle from church to church. Few lives improve enough to actually break out of poverty.
The solution: Christian leaders in this community are forming a Love, Inc affiliate with the purpose of mobilizing the churches to work together. Using the Love, INC model, we will inventory the resources in the community, including social service agencies, church outreach ministries, and the talents of people in the pews. Then we’ll begin to match these resources with needs in our community and help churches create new ministries to fill the gaps of unmet needs. In addition, all church members will be trained to walk alongside people in need in long-term, caring relationships.
The impact: Our Love, INC affiliate will represent a network of more than 21 churches working in unity to love our neighbors enabling us to meet the needs of more people each year with food, clothing, life skills training, affordable housing, transportation, child care, parenting resources and more. Through the combination of supportive services and caring relationships, the live of people in need will be transformed.
