Just look at the animal-lovers fill those bins with cat and dog food! We are so happy to end our most successful pet food drive in three years! Living Ministries 3rd Annual Pet LOVE Drive lasted the entire month of August but the excitement will carry us through until our next event in October, Survival Drive!
With the help of many donors Living Ministries collected:
- 100 lbs of kitty litter
- 120 lbs of cat food
- 40 lbs of bird food
- 476 lbs of dog food
At 736 lbs total collected food and pet items we not only met our goal, but we superseded it! We actually collected 147% of our entire goal for food and pet items thanks to our generous community.
This was the first year we have ever asked for money during our Pet LOVE Drive. We were excited at the endeavor to help Angel Wings Rescue Animal Shelter by taking a bite out of their very big vet bill at Columbia Veterinary Hospital….It takes a lot to keep all the animals healthy at Angel Wings. All animals at this no-kill shelter are spayed/neutered, are current on their shots and receive excellent medical care so they are ready to go to their forever home, as soon as you get there to pick them up! We set a goal of $500 for the event and we are very happy to say that between money jars at local businesses, cash donations handed to Living Ministries Board of Directors and online donations we collected $235. We are so thankful to reach 47% of our goal!
With your generous donation we were able to give the following items to Lower Columbia CAP’s Meals on Wheels Program.
- 120 lbs of dog food
- 40 lbs of bird food
Love Overwhelming, who serves people experiencing homelessness was given:
- 20 lbs of dog food
- 10 lbs of cat food
Because Angel Wings is an Affiliated Ministry of Living Ministries, run completely by 1 power-house of a lady, who never gets paid for all she does, we really wanted to help, not only her, but the animals we have grown to love and can’t wait to see go to great homes. Angel Wings Rescue received the following donations:
- 326 lbs of dog food
- 104 lbs of cat food
- 100 lbs of kitty litter
- $20 was given to Angel Wings Rescue to purchase kitten formula
- $190 was paid to Columbia Veterinary Hospital toward Angel Wings Rescue’s bill
We could have never done this without the help of several local businesses. Their willingness to make room for us was astounding. Big thanks go to 3 local businesses that not only gave us a bit of room on their counters for a money jar but also let us send people to them with pet item donations.
