Living Ministries serves Cowlitz County. We do not receive government dollars and no one receives a paycheck. All donations stay in Cowlitz County. We are working to get our nonprofit status back. In the past we were a non-reporting nonprofit. The Living Ministries Survival Drive has always benefited people experiencing homelessness in Cowlitz County via Love Overwhelming and maybe another organization. We are starting early. We have not decided if there is a second organization to benefit for our 2026 drive yet. Usually our Survival Drive runs in the month of October but we are starting early this year because I need a board of directors. Right now I have a few Executive Directors but our President works 3 jobs and our Secretary needs a lung transplant and she really doesn’t have a lot of energy for extra. The other day I was updating Jamie Holloway‘s website and I pointed out that the donate button on her website needed to come down because PayPal was not taking donations for Living Ministries right bow, and that was how we were collecting donations for her; and to be honest, no one has ever donated anything to her. Jamie said that people were more likely to buy things for her than give money anyway. She suggested that we put a link to her wishlist on Amazon. So that is what we did.
Today, while I was finishing a blanket to donate to the VFW, I thought about how thankful I was for this box of yarn that people had donated for this blanket and the 1 0r 2 more I will be able to make with the yarn that was given to me. I will be able to make lap blankets and baby blankets for people so they will know they are loved. Then I thought about how I need to get some Fishermans Wool to make some water repellant hats for Love Overwhelming and it made me think about the Survival Drive and I thought about how I could make a wishlist on Amazon for the things we could collect for a Survival Drive. And then I thought, why wait? And if we start now it could be a way to entice people who might be interested in joing our Board of Directors and rebuild my beloved Living Ministries.

- Body Warmers (they are larger and last longer than hand and foot warmers)
- Flashlights & Batteries
- Backpacks
- New Underwear (Men’s Medium and Large are the most needed)
- Socks (Wool boot socks or tube socks are the most needed)
- Gloves, Hats, Scarves and other camping gear
- Locally it is better to pick up cases of water, bags of fresh fruit, lotion, shampoo and conditioner
