At our June Power Meeting it was suggested that we have a pet food drive. After a phone call to Cowlitz County Humane Society we were told that although they are happy that they have the opportunity to help many families, they also had an outlet. It was suggested that we call Lower Columbia CAP Meals on Wheels. When we called Meals on Wheels we found that sometimes when meals are delivered to homebound people, they would feed their pets with the food, because they did not have pet food. Meals on Wheels were happy to accept smaller bags of dog, cat and bird food.
We were excited to accept donations from people at Bark for Life. Our friend Debra from Angel Wings Ministry brought with her food from Remnant Farms.
We are very excited to announce that we have collected about 260 lbs of pet food and delivered it to CAP Meals on Wheals.

We had so much fun collecting food for this program that we have decided to continue collecting food through the month of August.
We will be accepting donations at The Cowlitz Black Bears Game on July 27th and at Cowlitz/Wahkiakum Relay for Life on August 20th.
If you have a donation and cannot make it to one of these events please Contact Us and we will make arrangements to meet you. We could use cat food and dog food for medium sized adult dogs.
